Our Favorite Place for a Family Dinner!

When the mood strikes us for some great food and family time somewhere fun, we head to one of our favorite restaurants, Angelo’s and Vinci’s in Fullerton.

With our girls (ages 11, 8, 7) in tow, we ventured off to celebrate my hubby’s birthday! You can’t help smiling as you enter the restaurant and your eyes take in all of the amazing and colorful sights and décor. We love the lively atmosphere and how family-friendly it is. The girls like pretending they’re the trapeze artists hanging from the ceiling as well as checking out the scary monsters and creatures all around the room, and daring one another to venture down to the Monster Wine Cellar alone.

As we take our seats, I feel almost like I’m somewhere in Venice as I’m lulled by the Italian music in the background and the smells of deliciousness wafting about as I butter my first fresh warm roll that’s brought to our table.

It’s Shirley Temples all around for the girls and a glass of Chardonnay for me, just to start things off. My girls love pizza and pasta and the kids’ menu offers some great choices for them.  My oldest, now 11, has graduated to the main menu and indulges in her favorite, Linguine with Shrimp and Scallops with a white cream sauce. Yum! The birthday boy opts for this as well since it’s his favorite, too. Like father like daughter.

As for me, I ordered my favorite, which is the Shrimp Romano. Can I just say OMG?! Seriously. To die for! It has shrimp, garlic, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, cilantro, with a white cream sauce. Divine.

This is where it gets very quiet. Very few words were spoken once the food arrived, which says a lot for this family with three girls.  Soon, melodious humming sounds were heard between the clinking of forks and dishes, and requests of “more bread, please”.

Plus the portions are huge, so we were only able to finish about half. We all had leftovers for the next day. Yay! Let’s not forget the birthday Spumoni ice cream. Delicious! We rarely go without it when we dine here.

As we headed for the door, our tummy’s full, in a pleasant state of food coma of sorts, I was reminded of Angelo’s and Vinci’s banquet rooms and made a mental note to check into that for our next big party.

So next time you’re in the Fullerton area, and want to bring the family somewhere fun with some delicious Italian fare where you’ll be welcomed and entertained by your surroundings, head on over to Angelo’s and Vinci’s!
