Good friends, tasty eats and fantastic music = Great fun!

That’s how it was for me and seven of my friends last Sunday night at the Festival of the Arts in Laguna Beach. All summer long, the festival features not only fabulous artists showing their work, but nightly entertainment until the very last evening, Tuesday August 31st.

Receiving the inside scoop from my friends Tim and Carolyn, they convinced me this was THE place to be. You can bring in your own food and libations, so we packed up a delicious tapas dinner to share, added some smooth red wine and a decadent dessert. We arrived at the Festival grounds at 4:30 to secure one of the many tables they have available for free! It’s first come first served, so my recommendation (especially on the weekends) is to get there early, stake your table and go check out the art.

It really doesn’t matter which night of the week you go to the Festival, there is always great art and impressive entertainment… but for me, “Beatles’ Sundays” with Jason Feddy was the best! Kids from 2 – 92 were there singing and dancing to The Beatles’ classics like “Hey Jude”, or one of my favorites, “Come Together”. This Sunday event will continue until August 29th, so hurry and don’t miss out! If you love Jason, he will also be performing his own music on the Festival’s closing night, August 31st.

Nightly entertainment runs from 6pm until 8pm. You can also buy food and drink inside the Festival Grounds. Free trolley shuttles run throughout the summer in Laguna Beach to the festival. Click here to view my post from earlier this summer for their routes.

The Festival of Arts is located at 650 Laguna Canyon Rd., Laguna Beach. For more information, check on foapom.com or call 949-494-1145
during weekday business hours.

Ren: I am falling back in love with this blog post, for artsy reasons, of course. But also for The Beatles references. Ever since what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday on October 9th (and my own dad's 60th birthday!) I just can't get their tunes outta my head...

The Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters in Laguna is one of my favorite annual events.
They always have something fun going on, with music or activities, and the local artists are great.
